Is a Music a big part of your life?


Music plays a big role in today’s society and generation. Music can be used as a stress reliever but a also a way to send messages in songs that can really hit home for certain people. People look up to certain artists like Beyonce, Nicki Minaj, Drake, XXTENTACION, and many more other artists in the industry, even the ones who have sadly passed away a while ago. I interview a couple of students who listen to music allot, and here are some of their responses.

I had asked a student named Jamal Johnson a couple of questions on his opinions on how music can influence a person’s decision and here’s what he said, “personally, I listen to 90’s hip hop music. I really don’t like the music in today’s generation. But I think music can really influence a person’s decisions to be honest. Especially in today’s music, with all the violence that’s happening”. I had also asked him who’s his favorite artists and he replied “Tupac and The Notorious B.I.G.”

A student named Kavarai Lenoir had a whole different approach onto the topic. In his opinion he says “I don’t really think music can make a person’s decision. In my opinion, if you make music influence your decisions on life, you shouldn’t be listening to music at ALL.” People have different opinions on today’s music or on music in general. Some people see music as a bad thing for kids and teenagers because of the message some artists give.

According to renderforest, The American Music Therapy Association (AMTA) reports that a music therapy is a powerful tool to fight such problems as stress, enhancing memory or pain. In one study, scientists divided people, who were about to undergo surgery, into two groups. For the first group they played music, the second group offered anti-anxiety drugs. The patients were later asked to describe they're anxiety levels and found out that those who listened to music were less nervous than those who were given who were given drugs. In conclusion, music can help stimulate and calm brain.

Music can really affect a person's state of mind. I asked a student named Kyle Bell if music helps him calm down sometimes when he's mad or just to hyped up and here's what he had to say. “ I think that music can really make someone calm down when they are irritated, mad, or just sad in general. Music helps me get my mind right for big situations. Even for football. “ Music can calm the nerves for people.

In conclusion, Music can really affect a person’s mindset, influence their decisions, and can really help a person through emotional times in their life.
